Cameroon, Egypt qualify for final
Egypt beat the Ivory Coast 4-1 to qualify for the African Nations Cup final. The Pharaohs will face Cameroon, who beat host nation Ghana 1-0 in a high-profile semi-final Thursday afternoon. FRANCE 24's François Picard reports from Ghana.
Hosts Ghana kick off a high calibre African Nations Cup semi-finals programme when they take on Cameroon at Accra's Ohene Djan stadium on Thursday (1700 GMT).
The Black Stars, title winners four times between 1963 and 1982, will have to make do without suspended captain John
Mensah, banned for one match after being sent off in Ghana's 2-1 quarter-final victory over Nigeria.
Ghana coach Claude Le Roy, who hails Mensah as one of the world's best centre backs, said his absence was a huge tactical problem against Cameroon, who have won the tournament four times
since 1984.
In the other semi-final, title holders and five-times champions Egypt play 1992 winners Ivory Coast at the Baba Yara
stadium in Kumasi (2030 GMT) for a repeat of the final the Pharaohs won on penalties two years ago in Cairo.
Didier Drogba's Ivorians have shown they are strong enough to lift the trophy after scoring 13 goals and conceding only one in their first four matches.
Ivory Coast coach Gerard Gili welcomes back centre back Kolo Toure, who has recovered from a groin injury.
