After stepping down as sporting director of the Formula One Ferrari team at the end of the last season, Frenchman Jean Todt has resigned as executive director of the whole Ferrari group, thereby ending a prolific 15-year career at the "Scuderia".
Frenchman Jean Todt has left Ferrari just a few months after moving upstairs from his post as sporting director of the Formula One arm of the company, it said Tuesday.
Todt left his position of sports director at the end of last season to become executive director of the whole Ferrari group but he has now stepped aside to become a consultant for the company.
"A new chapter in my life is opening during which I will have more time to look after myself and my interests," said Todt in a statement released by Ferrari.
Todt joined Ferrari in July 1993 before taking over the Formula One team's top job in 2004. He helped guide Ferrari to six successive constructors' titles as well as five drivers' titles in a row.
