Dani Pedrosa untouchable at home
Home favourite Dani Pedrosa (left on picture) passed fellow Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo in the first curve at the Spanish MotoGP, to cross the finishing line ahead of Italy's Valentino Rossi. Pedrosa now leads the overall championship standings.

Spanish Honda rider Dani Pedrosa grabbed the world championship lead after winning Sunday's Spanish MotoGP ahead of Italian Valentino Rossi and Spanish teammate Jorge Lorenzo.
  
Pedrosa set a cracking pace, quickly leaving his rivals in his wake as he lead from start to finish to notch up his 28th career win and fifth in MotoGP.
  
He moves into the overall world championship lead after finishing third in Qatar three weeks ago.
  
Pole sitter Lorenzo was second for the first three laps before being overtaken by Yamaha's Rossi. The Spanish rookie holds second place in the championship five points ahead of Rossi.
  
France's Randy De Puniet crashed on lap four and American Colin Edwards was forced to retire after the sixth.
  
World champion Casey Stoner of Australia, winner of the season-opener in Qatar, finished down the field in 11th position after leaving the track twice.
