My opionion for Abbey's message
By Stephanie
It's surprised you mentioned the intention Chinese government want to control Tibet is "tourism profit". It's true tibet's main industry is toursim, but do you think china is THAT DESPERATE for that amount of money? Tibet has been a part of china for half a century after the second world war, how come china need to INVADE it's own land? Frankly speaking, China can not lose tibet because of its strategic position geographically and because keep one's country's territorial integrity is all about your pride and dignity. Whatever nationality Abbey has , I think you can understand that.
I'm a chinese and I don't think China is "strong and influencing" as you said, people have a better life in few big cities, however in the countryside or in Tibet, people's living standards are lower. And that's why China is called a develeping country. It is ture people in Tibet are still living in poverty, but Rome is not built in a day, you need time!
And for what you said about "The Chinese government has no respect for the Tibetan's and their culture." I can't agree at all, in fact, the Chinese government has established many laws and regulations to help tibet people, their children can have additional grades added for their college entrance examination; many tibet people commit crime in big cities in china, most of the time, the police must tolerent their behaviors. And I didn't see the Chinese government have done anything to abuse their cultures , it's good to keep diversity, why the chinese government want to irritate the tibet people ?

The Chinese Government and their greed
By Abbey
We are all aware of China's motive behind controling Tibet. The Chinese government exploited Tibet's peaceful way of life for their own tourism profit. It was wrong for the Chinese government to invade Tibet. China, being a strong and influencing power, has the ability to hide thier corrupt actions. No other country will question these actions because of their economic ties. So time goes on and the Tibetan people are continued to be ignored by the world. The Chinese government has no respect for the Tibetan's and their culture. Surely they will continue to abuse their power.

torch relay -- point of view from a local chinese
By helen peng
I am a Chinese, no matter how many anti-china protesters try to disrupte the torch relay and how china is wrongly judged by many news agents, but i still do believe China will hold this Olympic Game very sucessfully. China will never let the world disappointed. China is getting stronger and stronger, we will never back off no matter how hard the situatioin is. I am proud of being a chinese, so are all my collegues, friends and all people i know.
GIVE CHINA A CHANCE. LET THE WORLD LOOK CLOSER HOW GREAT COUNTRY CHINA IS AND HOW NICE CHINESE PEOPLE ARE! OR YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MISS!

the Olympic games are all about money and politics not sport.
By kristana
The Olympic games are all about money and politics not sport.
How can an Olympic spirit exist in a totalitarian state? Chinese have no concept of freedom!
Politicians and business men (included sport stars) are afraid to upset the Chinese government? Ordinary citizens will do it for them. It's a good thing. Protestors have every right to protest to improve the well being of the human being all around the world. If we want peace, we must demand it by demonstrations, how could we do otherwise to let respect our rights?

All the stories just tell one thing more clear than ever. The Tibetans are violent, uncivilized. The people in the west had been-blind by so many years of your anti-China propaganda.
So, go ahead be bad to China all you want. It changes nothing. China will rule this century. Deal with that!!!!
