The Olympic torch has been lit and blown out so many times as a result of the protests, it is now no more than a pathetic Candle in The Wind.
China should leave Tibet and be more respectful of its neighbours.
The whole ideology of the Olympic Games (quote from their website) is "According to the Olympic Charter, established by Pierre de Coubertin, the goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practised without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play".
Clearly the Chinese must have read this statement from right to left when they signed up for Olympic membership?...Hence why they completely misunderstood the essence of the games and how to conduct themselves on the world stage.

Why are all the participating Olympic countries doing nothing more to show their disgust at the Chinese treatment of Tibet by merely disrupting the transportation of a silly torch that has now been re-lit more times than a candle in a gale force wind? All countries should simply ban cheap chinese imported goods until they leave the peace loving people of Tibet to live their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Dalai Lama - surely one of the worlds wisest of men. The chinese economy is only booming because we are all buying their shoddily made goods using virtual slave labour. If we ban their imports, they would be forced to realise that the 'bully boy' tactics and totalitarian regime they have imposed would need to end immediately...and that they would need to sign a treaty to reassure all concerned that they will stick to its terms. The Olympic movement hoped that awarding the games to Beijing might force the hand of the Chinese to respect their neighbours. However, by escalating their 'hard line' tactics, the Chinese are now using the Games to demonstrate their power over the world. Disgraceful!
