The murder of 15-year-old British tourist Scarlett Keeling has inspired a Bollywood director to make "Rave Party" -- a film exposing the drug scene in India's tropical holiday hotspot Goa.
"Rave Party is based on what happened to Scarlett," Prabhakar Shukla told Friday's DNA newspaper.
"Since the scene of (the) crime was Goa, I want to shoot it there and give it an authentic feel," he told the Mumbai daily.
Scarlett's bruised body was found on February 18 on the Arabian Sea state's popular Anjuna beach after an all-night drinking and drug session.
She had been raped and left for dead allegedly by a beachfront cafe bartender and a local drug dealer, who are under arrest for conspiracy to murder.
Her mother Fiona McKeown accused police of a cover-up involving local officials and drug dealers after they reported Keeling had drowned.
A second post mortem was held which revealed Scarlett was raped and killed.
"I am going to make this film really big. I want to show the people what is happening in Goa -- how there is a drug racket going on in the vacation spot and how people are slowly getting addicted and ruining their lives," Shukla said.
For the role of Scarlett, Shukla said he has approached leading Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif -- who was brought up in London and whose mother is British. Shukla plans to begin shooting in July.
Shukla's last production "Kahani Gudiya Ki" (Story of a little doll) was released last year and based on a true story about an Indian prisoner of war held in Pakistan.
