Massive quake strikes China: US Geological Survey
An earthquake measuring 7.8 was recorded in southwest China on Monday, the US Geological Survey said, with tremors felt in the capital, Beijing.
The quake struck 93 kilometres (58 miles) from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, shortly before 2.30 pm (0630 GMT), the survey said.
Buildings shook in Beijing at the same time, residents in the city reported.
