In today’s edition of her “Cannes Special,” Elizabeth Tchoungui discusses "Un conte de Noël" (A Christmas Tale) by Arnaud Desplechin, the first French film to be screened in this 61st edition of the festival. The broadcast includes clips from the movie.
Daniel Leconte will show his documentary "C'est dur d'être aimé par des cons" (It’s Hard Being Liked by Idiots) during one of the festival’s special screenings. The film follows the controversy over the cartoon depiction of the prophet Mohammed in the French satirical newspaper "Charlie Hebdo".
Competing for the honour of the Palme d'Or, Pablo Trapero explores Argentine jails with his feature film “Leonora". This poignant piece tells the story of an incarcerated woman who must choose between keeping her prison-born son and setting him free. Exclusive interviews with Franco-Uruguayan singer and actress Elli Meideiros and Trapero are included in the newscast.
