AFP News Briefs ListSenator Kennedy rushed to hospital: report
Prominent liberal US Senator Edward Kennedy was rushed to a local hospital in the state of Massachusetts with stroke symptoms, CNN reported Saturday.
Quoting a Democratic Party source in the northeastern state, CNN said that he was taken from the Kennedy family compound in the town of Hyannis to a nearby hospital.
There were plans to transfer him to the larger Massachusetts General Hospital in the city of Boston, according to CNN.
Kennedy, 76, is the last surviving brother of slain president John F. Kennedy, who was killed in 1963.
