Maradona, a life well worth a movie

Latest update : 2008-05-23

Diego Armando Maradona accepted Emir Kusturica's invitation to star in a film that is as much a tribute to sports as a celebration of the Argentinian football legend.

Emir Kusturica  is certainly one of Maradona's biggest fans. He makes no secret of his infatuation in the documentary dedicated to his hero's life "Maradona by Kusturica."

A football legend and a revolutionary in his soul, Maradona touched entire generations. He is as famous for his exploits - when he scored against England with his 'hand of God' - as he is for his troubles and addictions.

Emir Kusturica followed him for almost three years. The resulting film tells the story of Maradona's life, glory, fall and rebirth.
