I've always been curious as to how isolated practitioners are during these retreats? Do they receive any news of current events (e.g. the political situation in Tibet, Cyclone Nargis) or of a personal nature, or must they catch up on all of this upon their return? Any answers would be appreciated.
Will these people be shocked with what has happened recently in Tibet and with what's happening in Burma/Myanmar now? Both are Buddhist countries. I wonder how they will react to these two events.
