Several people were arrested in the south of France after police intercepted a helicopter coming from Morocco with 560 kg of cananabis on board. A haul of this size has a street value of 600,000 euros.

French police arrested several people after intercepting a helicopter arriving from Morocco with more than half a tonne of cannabis on board, police sources said Monday.
They seized the drugs, which were destined for sale in the Paris area, late Sunday near the town of Beziers. The haul had a street value of around 600,000 euros (900,000 dollars).
The head of a helicopter transport company was among those arrested, as well as several people from the French Mediterranean island of Corsica, the sources said.
