HAUTE COUTURE
Paris struts its stuff
It's fashion week again in the French capital. Men's prêt-à-porter is followed by women's haute-couture as both experienced and young designers show their latest creations on the catwalk.
After Milan, fashion comes to Paris. Prêt-à-porter's 2009 spring and summer collections for men are showing from June 25th to 29th. The 2008/ 2009 haute-couture winter and autumn collections for women follow July 6th to 9th.
Josep Font, haute couture genius
Josep Font belongs to this new generation of Spanish designers whose creations are inspired by their country's traditional suits. He is currently in Paris to present his 2008-2009 collection.
Gaultier the architect; surrealists Lefranc-Ferrant
Jean-Paul Gaultier envelops women in architecturally-inspired cages of desire while young designers Beatrice Ferrant and Mario Lefranc push clothing to its elastic limits, during Paris Fashion Week.
The precious lines of Karl Lagerfeld
While Lacroix draws inspiration from the Renaissance portrait, Georges Chakra's collection is all about women’s love-lives. As for Karl Lagerfeld, his offering is full of lines.
John Galliano pays tribute to Dior
Christophe Josse and Eymeric François are two new artists in the fashion spotlight. Designer John Galliano honors his mentor Christian Dior.
