Embarked for Europe, hundreds of illegal African immigrants pour onto Maltese shores crowded already with others tempted by the European Eldorado. In search of work, they soon realise that hope is the only thing they have. (Report: N. Ransom)

As the sun rise over Malta, the Marsa camp for refugees starts buzzing with life. Men are off to the city, hoping to find a job, an income, so that one day they can leave the island and continue their journey to continental Europe. But jobs are scarce, and refugees keep on arriving.
