French police found five people shot dead northeast of the southern city of Toulouse on Thursday night. One of the victims alerted the police to the incident before dying of his wounds in hospital.
French police launched a manhunt Friday after four people were found shot dead near the southwestern city of Toulouse, where a fifth victim died later in hospital.
Emergency services were called to the crime scene late Thursday in Magdeleine-sur-Tarn, 15 kilometres (nine miles) northeast of Toulouse, by the fifth victim, who died of his injuries overnight, local gendarmes said.
They gave no immediate details of the shootings or of the victims' identities.
