The Afrobeat of Seun Kuti

Wednesday 23 July 2008

This Nigerian singer is the youngest son of legendary Afrobeat artist Fela Kuti. For his first album, Seun Kuti is extremely political: almost every track takes on the corruption and irresponsibility of African leaders past and present.

    The music of Seun Kuti

Seun, you have the right idea. People in the US have no idea of the desparation that Nigerians feel because of their economic situation. Outsiders have no way to know how the few with money in Nigeria stiffle the many who are looking for a way to survive. The environment creates the 419 people who have no other way to somehow make it from day to day. Your music might some way, some day at least make those who cannot perceive what Nigeria really does to it's poor, at last do something to help. Peace and God Bless you.
