The Jordan Festival
This brand new festival takes place in the small kingdom of Jordan. During the month-long event international music artists grace the stage and renowned photographers exhibit their work against the desert backdrop.

For the first edition of the “Jordan Festival”, the small middle-eastern kingdom puts the show in the spotlight.
The succession of concerts and photographic exhibitions lasts one month. The greatest artists from the Arab and international music scene are here to illuminate the capital, Amman, and its historic fortifications.
Canadian jazz singer Diana Krall is bewitched by the ruins. A few steps away, festival-goers enjoy a show by the star of the Arab world, George Wassouf. Khaled, who personifies rai music, is here too.
On the walls of exhibitions halls, Arab photographers focus on man. Youssef Nabil, an Egyptian photographer and colour artist, turns a woman into a severe-looking Madonna, then into a 1950s bimbo.
On the Jordanian side, the style is different. The photographers ignore effects and capture the raw state of things. Rami Sajdi’s work is centred on his favourite topic: Bedouins from the Petra and Aqaba regions, who live according to ancient traditions.
This is the place where music dents the walls between people and nations.
