'Frasier' star Kelsey Grammer leaves hospital: spokesman

Actor Kelsey Grammer has left the hospital and is feeling "great" after a health scare last week following a heart attack he suffered in May, his spokesman confirmed to AFP on Tuesday.

Grammer, 53, was admitted to hospital in New York as a precaution on July 27 after complaining of feeling faint.

The veteran "Cheers" and "Frasier" actor has now left hospital and is on the mend, his publicist Stan Rosenfield said.

"Kelsey Grammer is out of the hospital, feeling great and about to resume normal activities at home," Rosenfield said in a statement.

"He and his wife Camille want to thank everyone who expressed concern. They appreciated the kind words."

Grammer, who plays the president of the United States opposite Kevin Costner in the new comedy "Swing Vote," told an interviewer recently he was "doing fine" after suffering a heart attack in Hawaii in late May.
