Towards a new Cold War? (Part 2)
Recognition of Georgia's breakaway regions Abkhazia and South Ossetia has put Russia at dangerous odds with its Western neighbours. As ominous naval buildups in the Black Sea add to the tension, many fear worse is to come. (Part 2 of 2)

After Russia's recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, we discuss the possible implications for Georgia, Russia and the rest of the world.

Acknowleding independence of the breakaway regions puts Russia at dangerous odds with its western counterparts.

Russia's relationship with the west had already hit post cold war lows even prior to the Georgia invasion,  and now many

are predicting even worse to come.

Ominous naval buildups in the Black Sea have added to the tension,  while key former Soviet Republics are upping their anti-Russia rhetoric as well. So, what now for this escalation and the status of Georgia's breakaway regions?

Tonight's guests are:

Igor Kondratsky, Diplomatic Advisor for the Russian Embassy in France.

Mamuka Kudava, Georgia's ambassador to France.

Anton Koslov, Professor of Political Philosophy at the American Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy.
