Medvedev warns he would attack Georgia again
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said before a group of Russia experts that he would attack Georgia again if provoked, even if Georgia were on a path to NATO membership.
MOSCOW - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday that even if Georgia were put on a firm path to NATO membership, he would not hesitate to attack it again if provoked.
Speaking to the annual meeting of the Valdai Club, a group of Russia experts, Medvedev also said he believed that Georgia's
Aug. 8 attack on the pro-Russian breakaway region of South Ossetia was Russia's equivalent of the Sept. 11 attacks on the
United States.
