YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! No oil company lifted a finger when prices were 4+ dollars a gallon. Big Oil defended themselves in Congress every time by saying "we aren't driving the price up, it's the market and demand. This is an up cycle and we use the extra profits to invest and for when we experience down cycles". Well, here we are at the other end of the spectrum and now Big Oil wants to do something about it? UNBELIEVABLE! It has to go both ways. This is the universe's way of balancing things out. BIG OIL SHOULD USE THOSE 'RECORD PROFITS' EARNED TO AID OPERATIONS DURING THIS DOWN-CYCLE LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD. They shouldn't lift a finger now either like they didn't when prices were high and just roll w/the punches like they said they were doing when prices soared. THIS IS REDICULOUS! If they weren't so greedy when prices were high and did something about them then, demand wouldn't have dropped so much. Prius's sold out, SUV's were dumped and no longer sell, families didn't go on vacations and people just plain started to conserve and combine trips. Plus, alternative technology development was put in high gear. If they can do something about low prices now, they could've done something about high prices back in July and then we wouldn't have this situation. Big Oil only has it's own greed to blame. What comes around, goes around...now those rich hypocrites just need to deal with it like us consumers did during those outrageous prices.
