Security for foreigners in Kabul steps up

The French embassy in the Afghan capital has beefed up its security measures in the past few of months.
Today, the centre of Kabul is under high security. Afghan police patrol most of the city's main intersections and foreigners have to include strict security measures into their everyday lives. Security issues are recurrent, even for humanitarian workers.
Crime has shot up in Kabul in the last year - theft, murder, kidnappings - but the main victims are not foreigners, they are the Afghans themselves.
