Paris Masters 2008
From October 25 to November 2, the tennis elite meets in Paris on the Bercy courts for the last tournament of the season before the final Masters in Shanghai, open to only the best eight players. And the last places are left to claim..
France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga took the title with a three set win over Argentina’s David Nalbandian in a showdown final between two players in great shape as the season draws to a close.
Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga delighted his home crowd all week long to take the title from Nalbandian, last year’s winner.
Tsonga claimed more than only the title in Bercy. He also booked the last ticket to Shanghai where he will defend his chances among the world’s eight best players in the last tournament of the 2008 season, the Masters Cup, starting November 9.
The 2008 tournament has been marked by the two top players, Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Swiss Roger Federer, withdrawing in the quarter finals on the same day over injuries.
