First off, if there is such a thing as the "Chicago machine", why is the same rational labeled as conspiracy when applied on the Federal level. Is it possible that Obama is backed a bigger "machine" than Daley's local outfit. Does anyone ever question the fact that Obama only came to Chicago after he was 30 years old ? Maybe he thought to himself, " Hmmm though I'm from Hawaii, I'll just start a political career in Chicago and become a Senator and later President ". Is it possible that this is the same "machine" that planted Hillary Clinton in New York in the exact same fashion ?
Interesting & refreshing to hear of Obama's independence from the political machine, though the nature of politics surely means that once you gain support, those supporters are apt to do questionable things on your behalf. Let's hope that now he is the president, Obama can retain some of his independence & pursue policies that benefit both the people and the environment.

When you [GOD] look down here on your creation of humans, you see a man, a woman and a child; when some of our friends look around them, all they see is race - what a shame for such a nation like America? A dream land for that matter. GOD I plead with you to shut the devil's mouth and let this young 47-year old cute and smart man walk up the cobblestone walk-way into that famous building where he has to rule and lead that great nation out of chaos and bring back the missing pieces; peace, love, unity and most of all respect.
