US elections: the final countdown (Part 2)
Its the home straight in the race to the White House. The year 2008 will certainly be an election for the history books with polls overwhelmingly pointing to Barack Obama becoming the country's first black president.

This race to the White House will go down in history as arguably the most eagerly watched election America has ever seen. Barack Obama is so far the pollsters' favourite.

 

Queues are snaking around the block at polling stations across the country with turnout set to be exceptionally high.  But Obama's Republican rival John McCain hasn't given up the ghost, campaigning to the last and proudly proclaiming 'The Mac is back' as he pins his hopes on an incredible last ditch turnaround.
