California to have TGV line
French engineers have been approached by California to help build a new generation of high speed lines in California. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been to France to see how the system works.
California is on track to build a high-speed rail network using French technology and know-how.
The project will cost California 95 billion dollars, in a country that is still largely dependent on road and air travel.
State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said: “America’s railroad system is no faster than it was 100 years ago and still runs on that old system.
“We need to do what other countries are doing. All over the world there are trains that go at 400 km/h.
“We need to do the same in this country, and especially in California.”

TGV
Excellent idea
transportation in california keeping up with other countries;
I believe the governor is very wise to persue other means of transportation, or means of saving on fuel. He has proved that he is a very intelligent man, & wants the best for the people. I am proud of him even though I am not from Calfornia, & never visited, but would love to. Keep On Keepin On Governor!
