Mario Fernando Hernandez, deputy speaker of the Honduran Congress, was shot dead by hooded gunmen in the northern city of San Pedro Sula, officials said.

Hooded gunmen shot dead Deputy Speaker of the Honduran Congress Mario Fernando Hernandez in broad daylight Saturday in the northern city of San Pedro Sula, officials said.
  
He was 42.
  
"Deputy Mario Fernando Hernandez and political candidate Marcos Collier were shot dead and another man wounded as they left a medical clinic at the Luis Landa school," police spokeswoman Fany Aguilera told AFP.
