Imams and rabbis, many of whom came from Israel and the Palestinian territories, met on Monday in Paris to discuss "new actions" to promote peace in the Middle-East.

Imams and rabbis, mostly from Israel and the Palestinian Territories, came together on Monday at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris to promote “new actions” towards the attainment of peace in the Middle East.

Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade, also current president of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), confirmed at the opening of the meeting that all the religious leaders gathered there had the “sacred mission of keeping the flame of peace lit.”
