Bush invites Obama to ex-presidents' breakfast
Departing US President George W. Bush has invited Barack Obama to a White House breakfast on January 7 that will include former holders of the office including Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George Bush senior.

President George W. Bush on January 7 will host a breakfast for his successor, president-elect Barack Obama, and three of his predecessors, including his dad, George H.W. Bush, the White House said Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Dana Perino provided no details about the breakfast other than to say it will take place at the White House.

The breakfast will include Obama and former US presidents Bill Clinton, 62 (1993-2001), Jimmy Carter, 84 (1997-1981) and Bush's father, 84 (1989-1993), she said.

Democrat Obama, 47, will take over from Republican President Bush, 62, on January 20.
