AFP - Three men were killed and two others wounded in a drive-by shooting overnight in the French Mediterranean city of Marseille, police said Tuesday.
The attackers opened fire using Kalashnikovs and handguns at the five when their car stopped at a red light in the rundown northern districts of the port city.
Police described the five, aged 26 to 31, as gypsies and said the shooting followed a drug transaction that went wrong.
The vehicle, a Peugeot 405, was riddled with some 40 bullet holes fired by at least three weapons.
One of the wounded managed to escape the shooting and was found on a nearby rail track while another was taken to hospital.
