Frank, not all British people are anti EU and anti the Euro. True the readers of most of the tabloids will take that view, influenced by the gross distortions they publish along with their right wing conservative protagonists. Many of us though are pro European and can see the sense in joining the Euro when we can ready our economy, however given the background it will be a tough one to win. It would help us if other EU member states made the welcome mat a bit more obvious and helped promote the good things about the EU.
Anyone who has been Britain knows that most people do not want anything from the EU neither the Euro. If Britain does join the Euro then that will be against the wishes of the British people and I do not see any referendum winning the Euro argument.
Mr. Almunia should have into account what British people think about the Euroe and not their politicians.
