Many parents think their kids are safe because they are in your house in their own bedroom. Who can hurt them when you are guarding the front door? But the Internet is a bigger opening than the front door. Many of teenagers are posting pictures, names, addresses, schools, even phone numbers, almost always without their parent's knowledge. They also have a default picture - often trying to ‘look grown’ and ’sexy’ …. so now the preditor knows which school they attend and has their photo! Target! I won't let my 13 year old son have a MySpace or Facebook page due to the danger. No way!!! I constantly struggle with the balance of watching out for my kid when he goes online. I even installed internet filter Ez Internet Timer http://www.internettimer.net It can stop all children’s on-line activity and block Internet browsers, e-mails, ftps or messengers according to my daily schedule.
