After Iraq, Sarkozy visits Oman
As part of an unprecedented tour of the Persian Gulf region, French President Nicolas Sarkozy visited Iraq and Oman on Tuesday - a trip which will also take him to Bahrain and Kuwait. In Baghdad, Sarkozy vowed to help the country's economic revival.

AFP - French President Nicolas Sarkozy arrived in the Omani capital of Muscat on Tuesday after a surprise visit to Iraq, an AFP correspondent reported.
His visit to the sultanate is the second leg of a regional tour that will also take him to Bahrain and Kuwait.
In Baghdad, Sarkozy vowed to help Iraq's economic revival on a historic first visit by a French president aimed at healing ties between Baghdad and Paris which opposed the US-led invasion of 2003.
