Chapter 4: Bruges, the beginnings of the Market Order (1200-1350)
Thanks to twin cultural and social revolutions, the Belgian city of Bruges became an economic powerhouse in the 13th century and its model was soon imitated across Europe.
On FRANCE 24, Jacques Attali presents 15 episodes of "Lessons for the Future.” Airing Tuesdays at 6:55pm Paris time, and Mondays at 6:10pm in Arabic, the programme takes the form of three-minute “chapters” that trace 2,000 years of economic history. The programme is inspired by Attali’s best-seller "Lessons for the Future" ("Leçons pour l’avenir", Fayard 2006).
