Forget about dinosaurs, the origins of life, and the birth of the universe. According to Ken Ham, the creator of the Creation Museum in Washington, DC, the world is only several thousand years old, despite the claims of scientists.
Ham said, “What this museum is saying is that God created the world in 6 days, about 6000 years ago.”
Ham is one of the stalwarts of creationism. He believes in a literal interpretation of the Bible. Creationists believe that dinosaurs and humans were contemporaries. Adam and Eve frolicked among the brontosaurus in Eden’s lush vegetation.
The Page family, visitors of the museum, had theories of their own. Kelly Page, the father, claims that dinosaurs never went extinct. “Humans used to live 900 years, so reptiles actually never stopped growing. Dinosaurs are just big lizards. Now the lizards don’t live as long, so they don’t get as big.”
Terry Mortenson, a historian at the museum, claimed that Noah’s Ark included a few dinosaurs in its menagerie.
The world according to creationists may seem laughable, but they are dead serious. Support for their theories gained steam under former US president George W. Bush. He even raised the possibility of teaching creationism in school. And this is the ultimate goal of Ham.
“They’ve thrown God and the Bible out and re-defined science as naturism,” said Ham. “That’s actually a religious position. It’s the religion of atheism.”
Since its opening a year and a half ago, the museum has welcomed over 600,000 visitors. And in a recent study, Americans showed their scepticism of Darwin’s theory of evolution, which only 50% of the US population accept as true.

Proud of Ignorance!
It is nice to see that someone can be so proud and self-righteous about their own utter ignorance. But, as Jesus said, the ignorant shall bring closer the day of judgment!!! Yes. ket the world end, let it end!!!

"Is it not possible that the supreme entity created mechanisms for adaptation and change?"
Yes, it's called adaptation and natural selection, and it results in the loss of genetic information.

Thanks for the laziness!
If your goal was to give false reports with an obvious disregard for doing any research at all, this article definatly wins! Every point you make is a ditortion of the facts. The Creation Museum is not in D.C. it's in Cincinatti, Ohio. Its sure a good thing we have folks like you on the side of secular humanist athiests.. you do alot to help the cause of God's word.
Evolution v Creationism
Is it not possible that the supreme entity created mechanisms for adaptation and change? If you observe the diversity between individual plants and animals of the same kind you will notice that each individual has some unique feature. As species continues into its future these differences combine in unpredictable results. If certain differences optimize an individual's ability to benefit from its environment it will be more likely to have a larger number of offspring and have a greater influence on the specie's future. Without the principles of evolution, as envisioned by Darwin, we would not be able to create new hybrids of food crops. All roses would look alike. Everyone would have the same eye and hair colour.
How can any of us claim to know the the supreme entity did not include this ability to change as part of the overall design?
Evolution v Creationism
Many of us are blessed that our ancestors took advantage of the opportunity to evolve to a higher level of development. Others, apparently, were not so lucky. Microsoft, IBM, Apple, Dell, Windows Vista, Office, and Linux just popped on my desktop during a week I was not watching my desk. The computer industry has only been around for 6 to 10 years. It has no relationship to transistors or vacuum tubes. Faraday, Hertz, Coulomb, or Edison.
"True Education" and "What is Eugenics?"
Technically, Darwin's 'Evolution' is a hypothesis, not a theory. In true education, students are exposed to all hypotheses and given the opportunity to think and debate. It is clear that on this topic, there seems to be a lack of true educational freedom in most countries. I often tell my children, "Don't believe everything you are told. Do your own research." I think that’s good advice for everyone. And as an aside, what is the logical end to belief in ‘Evolution’? Do some research into the subject of eugenics, a branch of science that evolved from Darwin’s ideas and a movement that spread quickly in the years before World War II.
A Question of Faith
Creationism may seem strange and perhaps laughable today, but that is only because evolutionism is the only option touted by the media and the educational establishment. Creationists do not doubt the fact that evolution exists, but what the media fails to realize (lack of research?) is that there are two types of evolution in this debate. No one doubts the existence of microevolution - changes within a species. Faith is required for belief in creationism. Faith is also required for belief in macroevolution - changes from species to species. No evidence exists for this type of change, not in the natural world and not in the fossil record.
Making fun of faith?
I thought some of the reported comments were laughable! 900 year old lizards? Whilst I'm open minded on it, it seems unlikely. Faith requires absolute believe in words written between 1800 and 600 years ago depending on which faith you follow. Evolutionism relies on knowledge and evidence and is altered as we gain more of both. It isn't perfect but makes a lot more sense than the main religions.
As for the 'UK' comment, it is a very tolerant nation but Fire and Brimstone Christianity is certainly alive and well as I can attest when my daughter (aged 5 then) came home from a CofE school scared and convinced she was going to h*ll because we didn't "believe" - that was drummed into her by a less than tolerant Christian vicar.
Laughable

Are you trying to make fun of people of faith? A two bit reporter who can't get to talk about other important issues I suppose. Please try not to listen to that voice inside your head.
Creationism going strong on Darwin anniversary
Whoops
Creationism going strong on Darwin anniversary
I've just noticed "Anonymejoseph walker - dorset uk " For those who don't know, Dorset is an English county known for its branchless family trees. I guess it makes my point.

Creationism going strong on Darwin anniversary
Don't laugh at poor deluded American cousins. It is no coincidence that belief in creationism is strongly held in those states where many family trees have very few branches.
evolution and creationist
Doubt if it is strong in the USA,in britain ,the masses are uneducated and brainwashed by its elevated peasents in the media and broadcasting ,it is easy to make them believe anything, anyway you are persecuted if your christain in that ignorant country, which supposidily is a christain country.england has justbanned a dutchman from entering because he has christain views,he goes against our muslim parliment agenda.ps i doubt if the europeans are aware we in england have a muslim parliment in england probably our govt had to consult with its muslims and get thier reaction ,and this is the outcome..if you are looking for the collective garbage in the west you will find it in britain ie broadcasting and media.
Creationism v Evolution
An Open mind is a refreshing concept, obviously lacking by the theme of your reporting.Creationists rely on Faith,Evolutionists on Theory, neither can be proven.Your commentary is proof of the old adage,'Repeat something often enough and people will believe it'.
I look around at the World and I see many things whose origin cannot be explained by Science, the balance in Nature is no accident, the cause will still be debated for many years to come.
evolutionist
Never mind having a crusade against the terrorist,we should have a crusade in the west who advocate creationism, exterminate society of all its pagan values aided and abetted by thier trash in the broadcasting and media.
evolution
Excellent thesis ,but c**p,I bet Ham upsets all the white trash evolutionist, these empty headed devious humans on the planet justify thier pathetic lives in their evolutionist theories.anyway unfortunately we have to tolerate garbage in society.
