wgo cares

noi body buys a dell who cares131

This is an Irish/ Polish matter

While we Americans would rather the jobs be in our own country (of course), I don't really care if the factory moves from the land of the Blarney Stone to the land of the Sejm. Either way, computers will presumably be made...

dell

Dell is a sick man

re:Dell to relocate flagship factory from Ireland to Poland

I'm 21 and i live in Warsaw, Poland. It isn't true, that we're benefiter of this crisis. Becouse of speculations made by banks (from 'old' eu countries) polish currency is the lowest for years. Many Poles are losing here their jobs. We don't want steal the Irish worker's job - but if there is a decision 'let's move the factory' why we should let to move it to non-eu countries? To increase our crisis? Then Poland will need more and more money from the eu budget - to help our enterprises.

Dont take this lying down

All workers should demonstrate and make the Irish government aware that shifting jobs round Europe to the lowest wage destination is NOT going to be tolerated. It my not be your job today but it will be tomorrow

Dell Inc.

Let's see how the share market reacts when all the confidential data left unattended in Dell networks like scanned copies of costumer checks+all bank details or the European accounts audit for 2007 hits the internet...M. Dell, S. Corkery and A. Desmond well done!

Polish TU Solidarność protecting Limerick Workers

It is both despicable and sickening to hear that our Minister Willie O' Dea failed to represent the Dell Workers in Limerick. Many people here are talking about the rumours the Polish Trade Union Solidarnosc, who are protecting the interests of Limerick's Polish and Irish workers at Dell in Limerick.
Our Minister O'Dea appears to have done nothing to alleviate the situation, aside from an unforgivably wasteful 164,000 Euro plane flight to Texas, in order to meet face to face with Michael Dell to hear the relationship between Dell and Ireland was over.
If that money had been contributed to the Dell workers who have been so harshly punished for their success, it would at least have made their suffering easier.
I have nothing but contempt for our Irish leaders who have failed utterly to represent us, massive reform is urgently needed as we spiral downward into a failed state.
As citizens against corrupt leaders, we are powerless.
But I can & will vote them out.

Dell

I have worked for Dell for nearly 11 years. They recently came back to the workers with a new redundancy packages, in fact 2 new redundancy packages, both capped at 2 years. One package includes 4 weeks severance pay per year plus 2 weeks per statutory, with life & health paid for 6 months after finishing, plus 4 weeks bonus pay in lieu of notice, (6 wks after 10 yrs service). The 2nd package includes our shift allowance, but no life & health and no bonus in lieu of notice. The choice was ours to make .. this is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. That is why the workers are angry!!

Well reported

A great piece of reporting-very sad but true. Just realised how bad things look for us. It's so disappointing to think what the rest of Europe think of us.
