French bank Natixis posts €2.8 billion loss
French bank Natixis reported losses of 2.8 billion euros for 2008, dragged down by a poor showing in the fourth quarter. The investment bank is 71%-held by the Caisse d'Épargne and Banque populaire, who are currently in the process of merging.

AFP - French bank Natixis on Thursday announced a net loss of 2.8 billion euros (3.6 billion dollars) in 2008 after heavy losses in the final quarter.
  
Its net banking income for 2008 was a loss of 3.452 billion euros. "Excluding the crisis impact, it stands at 315 million euros," said a statement from the bank.
