Thank god these people don't run the justice system. The law is in place for a reason, and to enforce it you use courts.

If Argentina has a problem with recidivism by violent offenders, then it should broaden its use of life imprisonment.
Argentina has a murder rate of 5.27/100,000. Compare that with Texas, the most frequent user of the death penalty in the USA, which has a murder rate of 6.1/100,000. Here in the UK, without the death penalty, the murder rate is 2.03/100,000.

The difference is murder v. killing. If you kill an innocent person for money or drugs or whatever, that is murder. If you kill someone to keep them from killing another innocent person, that is killing. See the difference ?

The death penalty is just wrong - too many innocent people have been executed for it ever to be used.

Many men & women face death in the service of their country, it is therefore not an unknown factor. You do the crime you serve the time or in this case the death penalty. Why should we support killers, depending on the fact in the case death must be an option. Crime needs to be treated in such a manner that it will discourage anyone considering committing a crime.

absolutely bring it back. Anybody remember Ian Huntley, murderer of two young girls Holly and Jessica? why is he still alive? evil, sick, warped degenerate. The Austrian who has kept his daughter imprisoned for 24 years and fathered 7 children by her, now blaming it on his own mothers treatment of him as a child. Euthanasia is too good for people like this, hang them!

Capital punishment is barbarous, contrary to any feelings of humanity, terminal in case of error, and a completely ineffective deterrent - as proved by so many states of the USA.

i firmly believe that the death penalty should be re-introduced as the deterrents we have at present are not working and too many people are being killed by sociapaths/rapists/muggers as they know that the option is jail and our jails are too soft now.There are maniacs who have been released from jail and killed again,if they had been executed these people would still be alive today

What do you say to a accused murder? Since life is sacred we, "the state", are going to murder you! What the heck! Only God can take life!

Human rights is a stupidity? I sometimes wonder if people actually remember why these laws are in place. Does the phrase "Never again" mean anything? And if those who kill deserve to die, why don't the government's executors deserve the death penalty?
