France's Grange wins World Cup slalom title
A third place in the season-ending Are slalom in Sweden, won by Austria's Mario Matt, was enough for France's Jean-Baptiste Grange to claim the World Cup slalom title. Fellow Frenchman Julien Lizeroux finished the race in second.
AFP - France's Jean-Baptiste Grange won the World Cup slalom title at the finals here on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Grange went into the season's final race with a 49 points advance over Ivica Kostelic of Croatia
He was in 10th place after the first run but produced a scintillating second run to climb onto the podium, while Kostelic, who had been in fourth place failed to get going and had to settle for 12th place.
The race was won by Austria's Mario Matt with France's Julien Lizeroux in second place and Grange in third to clinch the slalom title.
