AFP - A Miami man shot four people dead early Sunday then killed himself, in what police said may have been the bloody outcome of a domestic dispute.
A detective from the Miami Police Department's homicide unit said authorities would not release the names of the victims until their next-of-kin were notified. But he said the victims appeared to be members of the same family, shot at a gathering shortly after midnight.
Witnesses said they saw the alleged gunman leave the scene in a red pickup truck. Soon afterward, police responded to an emergency call reporting more shots fired at a house that had been set ablaze three miles away.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the alleged killer's body. He apparently had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The home was engulfed in flames, witnesses said. A yellow gas canister sat by an exterior wall of the one-story building, which was located near Miami's Little Havana, a district home to many immigrants from Latin America.
Police said they were investigating whether the rampage was related to a dispute between the alleged gunman and his wife, who had left him. They ruled the shooting a murder-suicide.
