- G20 - Gordon Brown - Tax havens
Leaders agree to end non-compliant tax havens
World leaders at the G20 summit in London have agreed to take immediate action against tax havens which fail to provide information to governments when requested, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced as the summit came to a close.
AFP - G20 nations agreed at a summit Thursday to bring an end to tax havens which fail to provide information when requested, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said.
"We have agreed that there will be an end to tax havens that do not transfer information upon request. The banking secrecy of the past must come to an end," Brown said.
"The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development is this afternoon publishing a list of tax havens that are non-compliant and where action must immediately be taken," he added.
