At least 41 killed by near-simultaneous car bombings
At least 41 people were killed and more than 60 wounded in three near-simultaneous car bombings at market places in the Sadr City area of Baghdad, Iraqi officials said.
AFP - At least 41 people were killed and more than 60 wounded in three near-simultaneous car bombs in market places in Baghdad's Sadr City on Wednesday, interior and defence ministry officials said.
"Forty-one people were killed and 68 wounded in three car bombs in market places," an interior ministry official told AFP.
Medical sources from hospitals in the Iraqi capital confirmed the toll of dead and wounded.
A defence ministry official gave a slightly higher death toll of 45, saying that 63 people were wounded.
