Latest update : 2009-05-07

A few weeks ahead of the June 4 European elections, FRANCE 24 and RFI join forces to bring you a special debate on "Young People and Europe", live from the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

On Sunday, May 10, FRANCE 24 and RFI join forces for the first time to bring you a special debate on "Young People and Europe".

From the European Parliament in Strasbourg, FRANCE 24’s Christophe Robeet and RFI’s Sarah Elzas give the floor to a panel of 15 young Europeans, who will address their questions to Hans-Gert Pöttering, the president of the European Parliament.

Pöttering will be asked to explain how Europe matters and why it is important to vote in the upcoming elections.

In the second half of the debate, Pöttering will be joined by Monica Frassoni, the co-president of the Greens/EFA Group in parliament.

The panel of young people will submit questions on a range of topics including the European elections, the economic crisis, unemployment, the future of Europe, Turkey and the Middle East.
