The Internet anti-piracy 'Hadopi' bill once again goes to the vote in the French parliament on Tuesday. The bill, which raises serious privacy concerns, faces heavy criticism from many.

A formal vote is expected on Tuesday in the French parliament on the so-called 'Hadopi' bill, designed to combat illegal downloading on the Internet. Rejected once on April 9, it faces serious criticism on privacy concerns.
 

If the vote passes this time, the text will be sent to the Senate, where it could be adopted in mid-May. The discord on the bill - even in the right-wing majority party UMP - highlights the divisions within the country on the subject.
