MENA, Egypt's official news agency, said Sunday that representatives of rival factions Fatah and Hamas agreed to form a joint security force in the Gaza Strip. They are meeting in Cairo for a fresh round of reconciliation talks.

AFP - Rival Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah have agreed to form a joint security force in the Gaza Strip, a senior Fatah official said Sunday, quoted by Egypt's official MENA news agency.
   
"There has been agreement in principle on the formation of a common force from the two factions to work in the Gaza Strip until the elections (which should be held) before next January 5," Nabil Shaath was quoted as saying.
