Find today’s programme and follow the action via Twitter from our correspondent Emmanuel Versace, live from the French Open.

Tuesday will be D-Day for Jelena Jankovic (ranked five) et Novak Djokovic (4). The two Serbian players will face each other on the Philippe-Chatrier court. Serena Williams, whose sister Venus has already qualified for the second round, will face Czech player Klara Zakopalova on the Suzanne Lenglen court, right after the Svetlana Kuznetsova (7) / Claire Feuerstein faceoff.

The going will get tough for French players as well: Michael Llodra will begin his championship with a game against world number five Juan Martin Del Potro. Adrian Mannarino will play against world number 16 Tommy Robredo.

But the French public will be particularly attentive to rising stars Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, respectively playing against Bobby Reynolds and Julien Benneteau. For veteran Fabrice Santoro, 2009 will be the last chance to shine at the French Open.

Female contenders playing today are Alize Cornet, Virginie Razzano, Nathalie Dechy and Kristina Mladenovic.
