Dharamsala in northern India is home to the Tibetan government-in-exile and its head, the 14th Dalai Lama. It’s a place where Buddhism is the main religion. According to Tibetan tradition, the Dalai Lama makes no political or spiritual decisions without first consulting his state oracles, mediums who can communicate with the gods.
In the small monastery of Neshung, Tibetans fall over each other to ask the oracle whether their long, forced exile will soon end. The ritual is always the same. The monks start by calling up the spirits. The medium goes into a trance and his sacred words are scrupulously recorded and translated by the monks. And when the oracle faints, the ceremony is over.
For the members of the Tibetan parliament in exile, the spiritual authority cannot be questioned. “The concept of a protecting deity is to help you in achieving things where humans are not able to under certain circumstances,” explains the parliament spokesperson.
Generational conflict
But for some time now, the impatience and anger of the younger generation has been gaining ground in the community. This Tibetan youth see the oracles’ predictions as an excuse to take away responsibility from the government-in-exile.
Many Tibetan youth are ready to take up arms, believing that the freedom of Tibet will only be achieved at the cost of human lives. They refute the choice of the current government-in-exile, whose allegiance to Buddhism and non-violence necessitates a refusal to go to war, even to save Tibet.
This cultural and generational fracture represents a major challenge today for the keepers of the sacred teachings of the Buddha.

Mr Nobody
If you do not have the courage to introduce your true self, why should on believe a Ghost? I speak the truth, you lie just like your Master. The Master that enslaved millions of people as Serf to suffer in silence as the Lama''s "Speaking Tools from his inception until the Chinese threw him out of Tibet, sorry, from which he ran away as a coward . This Lama should have stayed with the Panchen Lama and served his people instead of acting as a Nation Divider. Leave the Children alone and stop lying.
Monks beating monks
The post by Thomas Canada about Shugden monks beaten by other monks of Ganden Jangtse monastery is totally erroneous and far from fact. The actual incident took place at about 7 pm when the two pro Shugden monks beat up another monk of Serkong Khangtse Lobsang Ngawang. It was only after this that the students of Lobsang Ngawang retaliated. The pro shugden website are spreading their own version of the incident. But in reality, Lobsang Ngawang was hospitalised after the attack on his head which left him unconscious until he was taken to hospital. The attackers were arrested the next day from Shar Gaden Monastery....and a case against them is registered in the local police station. Please be fair when you post something Mr. Thomas.
Leave it Alone and Go Home_ Where you Belong!
Tibetan Refugees do not need Guns to return Home. All they need are they're faces!
Walk right in,Sit Right down! Don't let it get you down,Just go home and Sweat for your Freedom and Leave the Blood where it Belongs. Right next to your Heart!
Nechung & Nostradamus Meet In Paris
http://www.france24.com/en/20090529-reporters-controversial-voices-dalai... the oracles predicted that Tibet will be free on 21 Dec. 2012
I find it coincidental that Nechung advises a tv documentary about the Great Seer Nostradamus Predictions.
I find it cruel to suggest to the Refugees that Tibet will be Free without specifiying that the TYC does not need guns to go home to Tibet. All they need is are their faces and the will to sweat for their freedoms and give their Blood to the Red Cross as they return to their Homeland,Tibet. Better off than they believe sitting on a trash heap known as Dharmasala. If I were Tibetan, I would be home in a flash. It is too beautful to never return is a sinful waste.Make your country from within lawfully as everyone else has had to do already and still working on it.
What price for tranquility and security?
Perhaps Off Duty Policemen might be contracted to protect the Monastery. How much could it cost for 6-8Cops @24/7. TGIE knows they are dead in the water, even as they thrash and roll about in their final Endgame of Imtimidation. This is how it started in 1996 with Dalia inciting lighting up children with kerosene and burning homes of Shugden Practioners.
They cannot do anything about this, they are monks.
That's why we need people on the outside, to take care of business.
I have full confidence in the Indian Police to do a thorough and complete
investigation into this cowardly act of fear mongers.Just like the SS!
Hey Bob Thurman! Keep an eye out for old friends.
Two Monks Beaten By Six Tibetans
Two young monks have been admitted to hospital, to be treated for injuries sustained during an unprovoked attack.
The attack took place around 11.30pm on Saturday 30th May 2009, outside Serkong Khangtsen, in the Tibetan colony near Mundgod, Karnataka State, India.
The victims, Lobsang Damchoe and Lobsang Choekyi Gyaltsen, are both tulkus (reincarnate lamas) who recently enrolled at Shar Gaden Monastery. They are known in the community as followers of the protector Dorje Shugden.
The six attackers, supporters of HH Dalai Lama’s policy against the practice of Dorje Shugden, have admitted to planning and carrying out the attack.

Prediction prediction prediction
I don't know if I would believe that little girl and I know for a fact that Nechung oracles are hard to decipher so yeah I agree with Kyaktsar that western oracles (pundits) fare no better....hahaha that's a funny name btw.......and boy talk about Chinese being everywhere, some dude spilled some medieval Chinese juice over here too lol Bet he is being paid heftily by the CCP. These communist thugs knows no better, they would rather burn down their precious I-ching and Confucius analects in favor of communism, an idea which only looks good on paper! What stupidity.

What is a Believer?
To our friend Tibetan in Exile
You truth in economic oracles?
You believe in weather foredcast?
You believe in doctors diagnostics?
You believe that cars and planes are safe?
You believe in Presidents promises?
You Believe in Parlamentarian good intentions?
If you belive in all above then you shall go to
a psicriatic or meditation retire for a while.
Mistakes in the reporting
I am a Tibetan in exile...even though I do not believe in it and the state should have no role in consulting these oracles...I have no problem with freedom of religious practice on an individual basis...as long as there is no exploitation...The reporter erroneously states the no important decision is made without consulting the oracles..this is a gross misrepresentation...The fact the many of the exile parliament members did not make a statement on the oracles is they do not believe in it (self censorship)...)ours is still a conservative society)..Regardless I thank France 24 on airing this topic in a day and age when you either have to kill or take people hostage to be in the news....PEACE

With person like you human Rights cannot avance Karma does not mean suicide, but weight more than you believe. Tibet has the same rights to coexist independent as Israel and Palestine .

Oracles and Oracles
Tibetans have managed to balance their traditional mystical beliefs with a healthy dose of practicality. While oracles are consulted, there is very little in the way of actual state policies that are being formed from instructions of the Oracle.
While we look at amazement the "ancient" and somewhat archaic practise of Oracle consultation, I wonder if the consultants and the analysts and corporate CEOs any better? Lot of prediction models are simply a way of consistently being able to explain the decisions. Just look at the current global economic meltdown. Did any of our pundits predict this? Are our western "oracles" any more qualified?
Banzai
So what chance to a hundred thousand + refugees have against a billion Han?
No more than the American Indians had against the Cavaliers. If the West did not encourage Tibetans to pursue their lost Shangri-la,. perhaps they would be able to adjust to their new country sooner. The West gives them false hope that somehow they will be rescued and join again with their former Serf Master and serve his every whim. Just like Louis and Marie, remember?
No difference except the Royalist wore saffron robes in the castles instead of silk.
Tibetan Theocracy Equals Tibetan Taliaban Suicide Karma
It is a little late to become Freedom Fighters without committing suicide in China. The Tibetans do not have the mass support of Free Tibet Protestors across the West. The Dalia Lama knows full well what the TYC is up to and secrectely supports violence. Much as Kim Jung il in his last days considers nuking the Korean Penninsula. The Dalia has decided as Hitler to take his people down with him as the Global current turns the tide against his misguided game of roulette he has been playing with his former slaves and serfs as his pawns as expendable as ever over the 400 hundred years of his reign.
Tibetans would not suffer as much longing for an age that has passed as certainly as our own medieval past as receded into the annals of history.
