Roma / Gypsies

I guess that the moaning is built in their psyche; In Romania they were offered houses and land and they destroyed them. They are nomadic people, and we just have to accept that. Not everybody is built to be mainstream, and gypsies have hundreds of years of history where they lived just like now. "Every day we are reminded of the need for a strengthened United Nations,
as we face a growing array of new challenges, including humanitarian crises,
human rights violations, armed conflicts and important health and environmental
concerns. Seldom has the United Nations been called upon to do so much for so many.
I am determined to breathe new life and inject renewed confidence into a
strengthened United Nations firmly anchored in the twenty-first century,
and which is effective, efficient, coherent and accountable."

Victims of a Romanian pogrom.

This is obviously distressing for these Roma. France has obligations as an EU member state, but it cannot be assuming Romania's responsibilities and/or act as a safe haven for the victims of Romania's pogroms against the Roma. Instead, France should be offering these Roma some reasonable assistance, and, at the same time, pursuing Romania through the ECJ to sharpen up its game, so that the Roma can enjoy a better life in Romania.
