Sarkozy denounces 'fraud' in Iran elections
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has questioned the legitimacy of Iran's election, saying the "extent of the fraud" was "proportional to the violent reaction" there. Tehran has seen massive protests since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner.
AFP - French President Nicolas Sarkozy questioned the legitimacy of Iran's presidential election on Tuesday, saying the "extent of the fraud" was "proportional to the violent reaction" there.
"These elections are dreadful news," Sarkozy told reporters in Gabon's capital Libreville on the sidelines of late Gabonese president Omar Bongo Ondimba's funeral. "The Iranian people deserve something else."
"The extent of the fraud is proportional to the violent reaction," he said, adding he was "worried about the situation in Iran."
Tehran has been the scene of massive opposition protests since President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner of Friday's election, which his chief challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi said was rigged.
"It is a tragedy, but it is not negative to have a real opinion movement that tries to break its chains," Sarkozy said.

HELPPPPPPP
Thanx Mr. President
Thanx Mr. Presidet for daring to to utter your opinion about the so called Iranian elections and its prefabricated, prearranged outcome. I myself am an Iranian but above all an individual who believes in the freedom of thought plus a world where we, as the people, can live side by side in peace and harmony regardless of our differences- if any. Wish we had more leaders like u .I envy the French!
P.S. In a positive way!
Iranians deserve what they have.
Iranians are not voting to be rid of their chains, they are simply voting to choose how tight their chains remain, and how better to be able to promote Iran's radical Islamic hegemony, so as to put everyone else in chains, yet not be so impoverished. A nuclear weapons programmes is no trivial expenditure. Like it must be remembered that the west's complaints over Iran preceded Ahmadinejad, it must also be remembered that Mousavi was in the vanguard of the hardline crackdown. Ahmadinejad is the safest choice for the west, since it is less likely that the west will be persuaded to take its eye off the ball because of Mousavi's less obstreperous behaviour.
Remerciement
Merci M.Sarkozy.

At least one international leader stands out and dares to give a clear message. The real leader of the free world. Thank you Mr. President.
