pick up your own history books and see what the colonials did--or better yet, look up the slave laws that were passed in America after the revolutionary war. To not know your history is to repeat it. You should be ashamed of your intolerance and narcissism. You do not know what is best for Muslim Women. Those of you who said these women should wear their clothes in their homeland and NOT in the EU: you sound like a White Americans who would scream to Italian, Irish immigrants and African-Americans, "Go home! You're not welcome here!" You Euros are as bad as the lynch mobs that terrorized African-Americans in our country--your one step away.
All of you Euros who commented need to take a sharp look at yourselves: Secularism as it applies to your European nations is synonymous with White and Christian. Like your Colonial forefathers, u presume to know what is best for the darker peoples--that they are barbarians & backward with their religion. Instead of listening to the testimonies of Muslim women who wear the Burka, you chose to listen to the French Politicians, one of whom is a Muslim woman--like she represents all women of Islam. To try to speak for women who wear their traditional headdress (for cultural and religious reasons) is to subvert their voice and asserts your White supremacy. When will you all wake up and see that cultural differences reflect the world? That asserting your nationality by oppressing others is what you’re doing by passing these laws? If you want to learn something,
all this weaning from muslims about personal freedom, religious choice etc is laughable and hypocritical. Where is the "personal freedom" and "religious choice" for non-muslims in muslim countries? you expect to be treated well in europe but never respond in kind, can people not see the irony is this? of course not, apparently human rights only extend to muslims.
what happened to personal freedom and democracy. if these women choose to dress like this how can the government tell them what to dress like. what happened to human rights and personal freedom.
that all their talk of freedom is rubbish.First they talk of freedom and make you fell free. Then when u begin using that freedom they come up with foolish pretext to curb that. Why not also set up something to find out how many women are forced to reveal their sexy body part in public places? What makes u presume that women dress up in hot dress out of their own free will?there had been cases where women are mentally(sometimes physically) tortured by husbands, father, and boyfrend to show off their sexy body( and at times into prostitution.)
To muslims,
This is what happens when you dont educate your religious daughters .Well educated irreligious bigots become minister and rule over ur poorly educated religious daughters.

Those who demand to wear the Burka, should be living where wearing the Burka is traditional and is consistent with the wearer's primary values. That place is not the EU.
Fully enveloped women, repudiation of non-virginal wives, government funded mosques and schools, sex-segregated public swimming pools...
Thankfully I live in the secular USA!
When women started to wear these black Islamic clothes a few years back in the UK - on one Islamic website there was a notice telling the Islamic women that although they did not have to wear the black outfit - but to wear it would show not only Muslim unity - but their objection to Western society. What has happened in the UK is that all cultural dress from the Somalis, Pakistani, Bangladeshi - has pretty much been suppressed - into a kind of Islamic uniform of black - they no longer wear colours or floral patterns - typical of the way women dress or gravitate towards naturally, the world over.
This is no accident - along with the increase in the uniformity of Muslim women's dress - there is also an increase in the talk of changing Britain into an Islamic country. You could pick one independent Islamic woman - and say she has made her own choice - but there seems to be at least nine others with little or no personal control over their lives.

EU is hiding their intolerance behind the concept of Secularism
